About Dr. Michelle Doyle

Dr. Doyle

I became a Doctor of Chiropractic because I was interested in finding a drug free, natural method of healing that allowed the body to correct itself when given the necessary information and environment. In Chiropractic College, I learned that structure determined function. Therefore, it made sense that if the body had proper posture and alignment, then the body would function better, heal itself, and experience less pain. Over time my focus expanded to include not only the importance of proper alignment of the spine, but the importance of soft tissue and the nervous system in maintaining the body's alignment and freeing the body from pain.

By incorporating new insights into my approach, I began working with trigger points within the soft tissues. These points can disrupt proper nervous system function and produce local or referred pain. Left untreated, the result is chronically shortened muscles and chronic misalignment of the physical structure. By deactivating trigger points, functional processes of the nervous system smooth out and become normal. The body is freed to assume its optimal structure and is helped to eliminate chronic pain. I learned that not only does structure determine function, but function can also determine structure.

With this new knowledge came the understanding that the adjustments did not require as much force if the soft tissues were addressed first. Desiring to integrate low force adjustments with advanced soft tissue techniques, I became intrigued with Activator Methods Chiropractic Techniques. Activator incorporates the same principles as chiropractic trigger point therapy, and is a very gentle, low force method. There is a "resetting" of the nervous system; subluxations are corrected and pain is relieved.

Today I have over 19 years of experience in chiropractic and advanced soft tissue therapies. I am a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Sherman College of Chiropractic, and currently hold active Chiropractic licenses in the states of Washington, Colorado, and New York. I earned certification in Neuromuscular Therapy from the Heartwood Institute in Northern California, and established the Center for Neuromuscular Therapy. I also developed Neuromuscular Therapy for Performing Artists and have helped such artists as Norah Jones, Madeleine Peyroux, Anoushka Shankar, Joan Baez, Solas, Alex DeGrassi, Riverdance, and many other performing artists to remain at the top of their art form by helping to reduce physical and emotional stress, postural distortions, and repetitive motion injuries.

My unique approach to chiropractic is an integration of Activator analysis and adjusting with advanced soft tissue techniques. My goal at Fountain Chiropractic is to partner with you in using proper alignment, removal of nerve interference, optimal nutrition, and a health-oriented lifestyle to restore and maintain your health and well-being.
